ABOUT THE ARTIST

Dr. Anne Mary Janarthanan, is a proud Indian traditional artist from India and a Certified zentangle teacher qualified from the ConZentric Art, Germany (authorized partner of Zentangle, USA) and a Certified Govt. of Tamil Nadu Artist ID CBE-1817. She has a background in Civil Engineering and has obtained a diploma, bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, a master's degree in construction engineering, PhD doctoral degree at Anna University, Chennai in Civil Engineering. She has served as an assistant professor in engineering colleges for a decade, since 2011. By Profession a Civil Engineer and by Passion Artist, Yes Engineer turned Artist.

As Covid has impacted everyone's lives, her father's death as a result of Covid has caused her to consider a different approach to overcoming her depression. She uses art activities to relieve stress, and she has discovered a means to be financially independent while doing stress-free, pleasant work. She has also noticed that many women in India are struggling financially and are not financially independent, so she has trained women in art and craft fields to become financially independent and entrepreneurs, and she has been recognised for this by society with awards and rewards.

Her classes are focused on mind art therapy, and courses created and delivered with enthusiasm, incorporating meditation and various art mediums from beginner to advanced level. She is organizing women skill development program in collaboration with govt. aided sectors for art teacher certification program. She has been creating art and crafts since she was a young girl and has studied art and meditation with experts. She is currently creating artwork more than 500 students were taught how to create art. For kids and adults she arranged numerous national and international activities.
