Structured professional training programs in Fine Arts & Teacher Education
Dr. Anne Mary Janarthanan is a proud Indian traditional artist and a Certified Zentangle Teacher accredited by ConZentric Art, an authorized partner of Zentangle, USA. She is also a Certified Government of Tamil Nadu Artist (Artist ID: CBE-1817).
With a strong academic foundation in Civil Engineering, she holds a Diploma, a Bachelor’s degree, and a Master’s degree in Construction Engineering, along with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Anna University. Since 2011, she has been serving as an Assistant Professor in Engineering Colleges, contributing significantly to academic excellence and student development. She has published Engineering Books, Journal articles and own Indian Patent rights for Concrete Materials and trained more than 700 engineering students in a decade.
By profession, she is a Civil Engineer; by passion, she is an artist — truly an engineer turned artist, blending structural precision with creative expression. She has learned traditional arts from renowned artist. She exhibits her artworks in government art expo’s and in private.
Like many around the world, the COVID-19 pandemic deeply impacted her life. The loss of her father due to COVID became a turning point, leading her to seek healing through a new path. During this difficult phase, she turned to art as a means of overcoming depression and managing stress. What began as a therapeutic outlet gradually evolved into a fulfilling and financially sustainable career, allowing her to pursue meaningful work with peace and joy.
Through her journey, she also recognized that many women in India face financial challenges and lack economic independence. Motivated to create change, she began training women in art and craft disciplines, empowering them to develop skills, build confidence, and become financially independent entrepreneurs. Her efforts in uplifting and supporting women have earned her recognition from society in the form of awards and honours.
Her classes are focused on mind art therapy, and courses created and delivered with enthusiasm, incorporating meditation and various art mediums from beginner to advanced level. She is organizing women skill development program in collaboration with govt. aided sectors for art teacher certification program. She has been creating art and crafts since she was a young girl and has studied art and meditation with experts. She is currently creating artwork more than 1000 students were taught how to create art. For kids and adults, she arranged numerous national and international activities.
